Following quite a while of talks and preliminaries, WhatsApp has, at last, pulled the trigger on cash payments in its application. Today the Facebook-claimed informing administration declared that clients in Brazil would be the first to have the option to send and get cash by the method of its informing application, utilizing Facebook Pay; the payments service that was launched last year.

This feature is introduced by Whatsapp to make sending and receiving money as easy as sharing photos, which will also enable and support small businesses to make sales right within WhatsApp. It provides a secure and consistent way to make payments across our apps. To make this initiative possible, Whatsapp is working with local banks, including Banco do Brasil, Nubank, Sicredi as well as Cielo, the leading payments processor for merchants in Brazil.

Though it’s unfortunate that this favorable feature is only available in Brazil at the moment, WhatsApp says in its blog post that the payments service — which currently is free for consumers to use (that is, no commission fee taken) but businesses pay a 3.99% processing fee to receive payments — will work by way of a six-digit PIN or fingerprint to complete transactions.

This initiative surely looks promising and supportive for the WhatsApp community, we hope it is deemed successful soon enough and launched worldwide.
